w h a t i s w r i t t e n One of the Six God-Generals, Sync is a martial artist, as well as the strategist for the Six God-Generals' missions. Because he is the fifth replica of the original Ion, he initially wears a mask to conceal his identity. Sync feels he has no purpose for living and is only an empty vessel for Van's will, and blames the Score for causing him to be "stuck with this pathetic life". (c) Wikipedia. w h a t i s u n w r i t t e n He utterly despised Jade early in Brawl, the reason being that Jade is (indirectly) the cause of his meaningless existence. Whenever he talked to the Necromancer without an intervention, he often lost all sense of reason and challenged the fonist in a one on one battle, usually these battles ended in miserable defeat. He hasn't talked much to the rest of the protagonist party, mostly due to the fact he doesn't care about them. He does needle Guy and get needled by Guy often however. The exception to this is Peony, he rather likes Peony though he has his suspicions that Peony only first reached out to him for information. He didn't let it bother him apparently since he killed Nephry's husband to open the way for Peony's infatuation. His reasoning was that Peony should be happy and stop wasting his life. He had a one way crush on Arietta, but never told her due solely to the fact that he's certain if he ever revealed his true identity, that she would kill herself or love him only for Ion's face. He doesn't prefer either result so he keeps quiet. He's afraid of ghosts. This is often taken advantage of. After the family disaster, Sync became more desperate than ever to end the world/his own existence. And speaking of disasters, during one Sync aged ten years, or rather the Sync from ten years in the future came to Brawl. Turns out he becomes a pretty mellow, sarcastic and amiable guy. After Jade beat the pulp out of him for Nephry's husband, Sync gave him a tip on how to change the future before he switched back. Then the descent into the core on the Tartaros happened. Jade saved Sync from his dive, but the God General lost his memories. Now he lives with Jade as his adopted son/pet/pest and causes a cacophony of trouble for the colonel. He considers Winry his sister, Peony his uncle and Guy his brother. He's mellowed a bit since then. He is addicted to ice cream. Luna also gave Jade two pet lemmings in response to when Jade said he had a new pet of the same variety in reference to Sync. When Sync asked where it was, Jade replied it ran away and thus, Luna gave him new ones. Jade ended up passing them onto Sync who named them fondly Diatessaron and Sesquitertium, in honor of the diatonic scales and music theme that Tales of the Abyss seems to follow. w h a t i s h e a d - c a n o n Pre-amnesia Sync hates everyone on Auldrant because of their devotion to the score. It's a waste of a life in his opinion because that's not living, it's doing what you're told. The two exceptions to this rule are Van, because Van has manipulated him into believing his cause is the only noble cause worth serving, and Arietta because... well, hormones. He is 14 physically after all. Peony straddles this line frequently. He has a bit of an adoration for Xanxus and his "fuck everything" attitude, it's something he aims to be like. He hates ghosts and darkness because when he and the other replicas were made, they were locked in a room deep underneath the Daath cathedral as Van and Mohs kept trying to get as close to the original as possible. Naturally some of the replicas would cry, moan or do other frightening things in the dark and Sync, newly born, didn't take well to it. He also has a hatred of Mt. Zaleho. Go ahead and guess why. Post-amnesia Is an utter bookworm, this is because Jade in the beginning had lots of work to do and left him at home. He needed something to do, later on Jade started taking him with him on missions. Here he eagerly learns military procedure because he wants to join Malkuth's army. If only so he can be close to Jade and also because he wants to be useful to his country. (So that Jade will be proud?) He gets bad nightmares sometimes at night and though he hates asking or bothering Jade any further, he'll often just grab his pillow after the nightmare and go cuddle up with Jade. He's insanely tsundere. He also panics about stupid things. Like if he should get Jade something on Mother's day. He experiments on things like Jade did as a child, casting spells, blowing up chunks of sidewalks and breaking vases. He once tried animal experimentation but was so traumatized by it that he never did it again. |
